The regular training provided by the team has also ensured that new employees are up to speed fast, saving me a lot of time and effort." “It was simple to set up and works seamlessly with a tablet so we have a lot of flexibility about how we use the system. Weeks said it chose to use NotaZone's scanning technology to help reduce the risk of typing errors. “Using Agrantec’s NotaZone and the FollowThisFood unique code on every single item allows us to demonstrate that commitment to quality and transparency to the end consumer." “We go to great efforts to work in a very selective and deliberate manner, processing individual animals carefully and completely, to produce the finest quality product for the producer and ultimately the consumer,” said Weeks. Until now, the clamour for more information on food quality and provenance has often focused on quality schemes and logos on labels. Like Olivia explains in the early tutorials, you have to press the A button at just the right time to get the Excellent bonus. How to Get Excellent Hammer Attacks Getting the Perfect Timing This extra damage might mean the difference between ending the battle in one round, unharmed, or taking damage and potentially getting a Game Over if your health is low, so it's important to pin down the timing early on. When attacking with Hammers, Boots or Items, you can deal additional damage by pressing the A button at just the right time. She is a child who has the heavy task of saving the world while discovering it.Įdit: Last but not least, practice makes better and it's always easier to solve a puzzle with a cool head. What is Excellent Hammer Attacks Deal Extra Hammer Attack Damage In my opinion 1/4 of the time she gave me a useful tip and take into consideration that in the narrative of the game it is a character that has just been born too. Sure Olivia can be a bit annoying when you are an adult because she gives tips for younger players. You can buy accessories that will increase you health, your time and you protection. You can buy better weapons to do more damage if you don't get the 1.5x bonus, You can cheer Toads to restore your health + they help you to solve puzzles for 100 coins each turn, Once you have finished a puzzle you will notice that they are often the same. You need to have a certain logic and if the player doesn't have it, it is indeed frustrating to play a game that requires you to complete puzzles. Does it fit Paper Mario? That's subjective because first fans see the series as a RPG but the franchise change to become an adventure game with RPG elements since Sticker Star but that's another subject. I think the battle system is about strategy since you have to align enemies or make a "square" to have a 1.5x bonus and planning fast to resolve the puzzle in time. Should I just bail now or is it actually worth banging my head against this garbage battle system until it starts to make some kind of sense? It's about solving a crap puzzle in 30 seconds or less, or you're fucked.Īll this combined with Olivia never, ever shutting up about anything and taking 5 paragraphs to say mostly nothing useful, or something so obvious it doesn't need saying, is really sucking the fun out of the game. It's not about strategy or planning or good gear or any sort of RPG mechanics. Honestly, whoever thought this battle system was a good idea needs their head checked. Now I'm about to quit altogether because every battle is a failure I can't work out. I've gone from perfect lineups every time to never getting a single one by progressing just one area. When it shows me the solution, the perspective switches and it completes in 2 seconds so I can barely make it out. Some of them are taking me 40-50 seconds to work out, which is useless in battle. The solution just isn't there for me and even if it is, it's no good. I've tried the ring training in Toad Town and can't get past the 7th or 8th ring. Can't get a single solid line up, the enemy configs seem impossible to work with and the time limit is making it worse. I'm not even that far in and every single battle I'm stuck. I was looking forward to another joyous Paper Mario adventure but the battle system has become a nightmare. In addition you have a skill set consisting on 21 unique skills. There level up system is what you'd expect- you have 4 attributes (Strength, Dexterity, Endurance and Energy) and each time you level up you get two points to spend. Firstly, you can choose between 3 classes- Warrior, Rogue and Mage. You gear makes a huge difference and you can really feel it when you become powerful because of a new item. It really makes mixing and matching your loot for the best setup to be really satisfying. Loot bonuses are randomized, so you might get two swords with the same attack power, but different effects (like +2 strength, fire damage over time, etc). It's really satisfying getting a powerful setup. There's a full inventory system with head, torso, legs, hands, shields, dual wielding & secondary weapon, and two rings. The loot starts out pretty slow, but once you've cleared a few dungeons it gets really good, with almost too much loot to manage! I often stop in the middle of a dungeon just to see what I've picked up. The dungeon crawling is pretty great- You'll explore large, varied dungeons which contain a variety of enemies. That said, sometimes it skips frames when nothing is happening, which is inexcusable for a game that doesn't push any technical boundaries. If you've played Bangai-O, you might understand this. In fact, I quite like it when there are lots of enemies on-screen (and there can be 20+) and it slows down. Slowdown- The game slows to a crawl in a lot of places, though again, not enough to ruin the game or make it unfair. There's some nice bump mapping on the ground in some places, too. I never lost my character in the chaos going on on-screen. Everything looks just fine, and some of the animations (particularly enemy death anims) look nice. However, they are perfectly functional and certainly better than most PSP games at least. You will not be blown away by the visuals at all. The graphics are a mixed bag ranging from decent to pretty bad.Let me break down my perception of the game for you: Now, I totally understand why some people really dislike the game, but for me, it was exactly what I was looking for. It's a generic dungeon crawler, with similar gameplay to Diablo. Also, I'm having a blast! So, here's my breakdown of the game for anybody considering buying it. Now that is cleared up, I want to say that I've fully beaten both the original Dungeon Hunter and Dungeon Hunter 2 on Android and have logged about 20 hours into Alliance on Vita so far. Now that the price is much less of an issue, I believe the game deserves a much better reputation. As such, its ratings are somewhat unfairly colored because of its massive premium on Vita. And rightly so- when the game came out is was $40 on Vita, compared to $15 on PS3 and Mac, and $1 for the other DH games on mobile. The game got really terrible reviews at launch, but look into it and most of them score the game poorly because of its price. I believe the storyline is the same, but that's about it. For reference, here is the opening stage of DH for mobile, compared to the opening stage of Alliance. It's not a port, nor did this game ever appear on mobile devices. Anyway, Alliance is a brand new game based on the first entry. I highly recommend DH2, arguably the best in the series. Dungeon Hunter is a great and respected series for mobile (until the last three entries at least). It is, however, based on the first Dungeon Hunter game. TL DR is at the bottom.įirstly, to clear up a common misconception: Dungeon Hunter: Alliance is not a port of an iOS game. It's not the best, most polished experience around, but it's a great game that doesn't deserve it's overly bad reputation. Many people describe this game as garbage, broken, terrible, but I completely disagree. Since Dungeon Hunter: Alliance will be on sale this weekend, I wanted to put together this buyer's guide for it. Smoke and particle effects, combined with lovely background graphics makes this one of the prettiest racers I have seen. This feeling of pushing yourself to your limits, and beyond, is what makes racing in Dirt 2 so lovely. When the speedometer is peaking and your car races past trees and dunes while wobbling unsteadily at every bump in the road, you feel on the verge of loosing control. It's about active drifting and brutal battling with your competition. The cars feel heavy, the turns require accuracy, but the game isn't as merciless as the more simulator-like competitors on the market. Codemasters again prove that they are masters of mixing arcade and simulation in a racing game. Which is a shame, because the racing in Dirt 2 is great. And loading the menu every time I finish a race, just to be allowed to choose a new race and then waiting for that race to load gets to be very irritating after a while. Sure, I've been dabbling with decorating my cars or watching TV in the trailer, but I've mainly been trying to race. After four hours with Dirt 2 the statistics proclaim I've spent a mere 37 hours behind the wheel. This interactive menu is graphically very demanding, and takes ages to load. For the first few hours it's a thrill to return to your trailer between the races to watch TV, study the fans walking by, and selecting a new race. The menus immerse me in the game in a way normal menus wouldn't. It's atmospheric and well-produced, and reminds me more of a snowboard game than the usual clean and shiny racing menus that accompany games in this genre. From here you can enter your trailer to select races, edit options, play multiplayer, etc. You start backstage in a racing arena, surrounded by crew, racing fans and competitors. It's well worth mentioning the start of the game, because Codemasters has really made and effort in making you feel like a real race driver. Money spent expanding his car pool and gaining access to more races and competitions. It mixes the best elements of both games: the rally-feel of Dirt with the brutal physics-based racing in Grid, and the result is excellent.Īs usual you start as a young and inexperienced driver out to win races to claim fame and money. Some people may not like the new in-your-face approach in Colin McRae: DiRT 2, but the driving itself is still great and whether it's realism or arcade action you're after, there's plenty to love.Dirt 2 feels like the secret lovechild of Race Driver: Grid and Colin McRae: Dirt. The demo's not too easy, either so you get some replay value for this big 1.3 gigabyte download! It's best played with a joypad or even a wheel - in fact while keyboard is supported it's really not much fun! The graphics are great, and the sound effects are crunchingly realistic. The sense of speed is excellent, and the cars really feel like they're on the track. Vehicles look fantastic, and damage is applied really well. Thankfully, despite the front end, the actual racing is great. Choose an event and a car, and eventually you'll be launched into a race. While it looks good, it makes getting into a race much longer than necessary. The over the top menu system, presented in a 3D trailer that's supposed to be your home. The worst aspect of Colin McRae: DiRT 2 is presented as the game starts. You can also do things that you're not really meant to do, such as almost completely wiping out a race from the universe. You can just play through the plot, content to stay in your puny little fighter and not straying much farther than your starting sector, or you can create a universe-spanning trading empire, all but controlling the economy and with enough military power to squash all who dare oppose you. In Albion Prelude, the cold war goes hot with the destruction of Earth's orbital defense station. Terran Conflict reunites the long lost Aldrin colony with Earth, destroys the Kha'ak Hive Queen, and sees a rise in tensions between the Argon and the Terrans. The Terrans establish tentative relations with the other races, but try to remain isolated-hence the game being named Reunion. The entire Terran Fleet, completely forgotten by the rest of the universe, streams out of the jump gate and curb stomps the Kha'ak. The Paranid activate their jump gate in Heretic's End-which links to Earth, right as the Kha'ak are jumping into the sector to try and destroy the Paranid jump gate. After the Kha'ak planet killer is destroyed, a Precursor shows up and begins secretly aiding the Paranid in building a jump gate. A few decades later in The Threat, the Kha'ak show up and their first act in the universe is to destroy everything in the sector President's End and nearly destroying the planet in Omicron Lyrae. The Earth pilot, Kyle Brennan, helped prevent the Xenon from blowing up a planet with their M0 Planet Killer in the first game, Beyond The Frontier. However, the Jump Drive locks onto the X-Universe and promptly breaks down, stranding the pilot (and protagonist) in the X-Universe and indebted to the Teladi, who helped repair his ship. The Terrans, completely isolated from the X-Universe, build a ship with the first Jump Drive, to try and reach Alpha Centauri. The Argon begin exploring the X-Universe, and discover the peaceful Boron, the Paranid, the Split, and the Teladi. They name themselves the "Argon" after R. Gunne crash lands his frigate on Sonra-4, an earth-like world, and begins restarting civilization with his crew. Nathan R.Gunne, a Terran commander, lured the Terraformers past Earth's jump gate into the X-Universe, then destroyed the jump gate behind him to isolate the Terraformers (now dubbed the Xenon) and to save Earth. Not long after, the Terraformers show up in force, and begin terraforming everything in sight. About a hundred years later, after the mission was complete, Earth sent out a command for the Terraformers to self-destruct. Earth built a fleet of self-replicating and self-evolving Terraformer ships to make the worlds habitable for humanity. All the planets discovered were totally absent of intelligent life. However, in a midflight test, the Earth jump gate locked onto a random gate not built by humans - they had discovered the X-Universe gate system. Long before the events of the games, Earth built the first jump gate and launched it towards Alpha Centauri.
